Distributed Control System (DCS) 

Objectives

Upon completing the course, the learner will be able to exhibit the ability to:

  • Create new projects through AD Suite
  • Explain the architecture of AD Suite and AD Server
  • Create and utilize Class, Classless, and Application Modules
  • Mass Import I/O Lists and Configurations
  • Utilize the History and Change Management Package
  • Utilize the Document Generation feature
  • Backup and Restore AD Suite project

Audience

All plant personnel whom are responsible for the configuration and/or maintenance of a CENTUM VP system that utilizes module based engineering.

 

Course Syllabus

Day 1

  • Familiarize the concepts of AD Suite
  • Understand the Engineering Methods the AD Suite Provides
  • Define what is AD Server and System
  • Create and Register VP and AD Project
  • Create and Import Process I/O List
  • Define IOM
  • Create Grid Rules
  • Exercises

Day 2

  • Create Class Module
  • Import Class Module
  • Create Application Module by instantiation
  • Create Class and Application Module using Sequence Table, Logic Chart, General purpose Calculation Block, SFC
  • Exercises

Day 3

  • Define Reference Tags, Common Switch, Annunciator and Operator Guide Messages
  • Understand the concept of Change Management in AD Suite
  • Create ModPack
  • Implement the change request in the ModPack
  • Create Document using the Document Generation function of AD Suite
  • Exercises

Day 4

  • Download the VP Project to FCS and HIS
  • Perform Tuning Parameter Save
  • Perform backup and restore of ADMDB
  • Exercises
  • Course Project
